Brands Hatch Hot Hatch Festival October 7th
Discussion
The final round of the 2007 Great and British Festival season will become a celebration of the hot hatch, and all owners of any sporting hatch from any marque, old and new, are invited to the party.
Following on from the massive success of the Mini Festival at Donington Park where 271 cars took part in the largest ever Mini parade, expectations are high for another large turnout. There will be plenty of action both on and off the track to keep the family entertained and it will be a day where all the championships are decided.
The racing kicks off at 10am with the fastest one sportcar championship in the world, the Radical Enduro championship, where the leading cars will be lapping the Brands Hatch Indy circuit every 43 seconds! Following that the 14 to 16-year-old Lewis Hamilton wannabes take to the track in the Ginetta Junior Championship, before the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup field battle it out. Numerous hot hatches will be fighting wheel-to-wheel for honours, with an Astra VXR and Renault Megane F1 expected to head of a field containing Clios, Minis, Leons, Alfa 147s, Citroen Saxos and many more.
There are also concluding rounds for the Radical Biduros, Westfield Sportscars and the ever popular Mini Challenge, ensuring a packed day of action out on the track. And if you are a hot hatch driver you can get out there too as they’ll be a lunchtime parade and free gifts for everyone taking part. It’s set to be a great day out for fans of hot hatches and racing - more details can be found on www.driversknow.co.uk
The Great and British Dunlop Motorsport Festivals are backed by a major marketing programme to broaden the appeal of national motorsport and introduce new spectators to the sport and is run by the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC).There will be comprehensive satellite TV coverage of each round, pre-event publicity nationally and locally.
Admission £12 on the gate per person, kids go free
