Di Montezemolo's moaning now
Discussion
Picked up the baton from Todt...I suspect Ferrari's form will continue to drop as they return to the chaotic days of old:

If the reporting is acurate, and he did actually say that theres a lot of ferrari in the car, then surely McLaren would sue his arse...... how's about $100 million for slander.
I would love to see it happen, but the reality unfortunately is that so much information is borrowed in F1 that to solve it would take years and probably cost more than $100 mn.Until this incident, I always thought Montezemolo was a decent guy, but now I realise he is another cheating ar5e bandit who has lost all his dignity through his own conduct

Strange that - I don't remember Ferrari having any proof that there is any Ferrari in the McLaren. My Di Monte could enlighten us and show us exactly where the common components are.
Must go back to watching the pigs flying past my window.....
There is (and its quite obvious) a huge amount of Ferrari information in the Mclaren this year, It's so blatant I cant believe the PH collective have missed it...... VODAFONE...... the red team are not happy at having to pick up thier own phone bill this year Must go back to watching the pigs flying past my window.....

Everyone else who has mentioned that so far this year has spelt it VODAFONE.

)Monte has made a total rse of himself today, that not many will forget in a hurry and I sooo hope there's a retort.

I would burn my Ferrari T-Shirt but I already did that after 'that' A1 Ring incident... The Scuderia have gone downhill in spirit, passion and sportsmanship ever since Enzo died. Part of the spirit that is Ferrari seems to have died with him.
...Nah not really, I'm just hitting the remnants of the Schumi glory hunters while they're down...

It's great, isn't it?
Rather like the clock striking 12 for Cinderella, the Ferraris are slowly starting to turn into pumpkins again. The famed reliability is fading, the strategies are going pear-shaped, the car doesn't have dominating pace any more and they're gradually starting to blame each other again. Makes you feel all warm inside.
www.grandprix.com: In recent days we have received (unsolicited) communication from Nigel Stepney which raises a number of questions which have not been touched on in the scandal to date. Stepney says that he believes Ferrari have been let off surprisingly lightly by the FIA. He says that there is a point that everyone is missing because they are assuming that the flow of information to Mike Coughlan was a one-way flow and that Ferrari did not gain anything. There is no evidence at all that Stepney was being paid to pass on information and he says that it was rather more simple than that.
"I got information about when they [McLaren] were stopping," Stepney says. "I got weight distribution, I got other aspects of various parts of their car from him [Coughlan]. Ferrari got off very lightly. I was their employee at the time. I was aware of certain stuff they were doing at tests, fuel levels, for example. I knew what fuel level they were running. I think they should have been docked points personally. The question is: Did I use the information, did I talk about it?' That's the big question. I spoke to some people about it. I can't prove it, there are no e-mails or anything. Points about the fuel and the differences [between Ferrari and McLaren] were discussed inside. As well as McLaren having an advantage, did Ferrari have an advantage? I think so."
So is Stepney surprised that Ferrari got off entirely without penalty?
"Very surprised," he says. "It looks like information flowing only one way. No one has been balancing the argument. No one has asked the question. They were thinking Mike was asking the questions and I was answering them."

That certainly makes sense and is believable, what if it were Stepney that actually approached Coughlan on the premise of a job at Ferrarsi if he helped him get the top spot? Coughlan then passed on information to Stepney to aid his chances? "I got information about when they [McLaren] were stopping," Stepney says. Certainly in light of this the FIA (if they are even handed, ha ha ha ha) have to fine Ferrarsi $100m and throw them out of this years and maybe next year championship as well. McLaren, despite wanting to draw a line under this need it to be cleared up as I am sure their sponsors will be asking questions.
G'day RM - some learned scribe said this would happen i.e. the Mclaren public crucifixion by Mosley would open Pandoras Box - I think it was Joe Saward actually in a piece he wrote for MN (Motorsport News) down here in Aussie a few weeks back. Theres also the Renault/Mclaren act to play itself out and we could add Spyker - I guess the entire pit lane. Mosley might have just snookered himself - we can only hope and pray.
