New here, and I put this in Gassing news. Not sure of the etiquette, but, being a big Lambo nut I wondered what you all thought of the only Reventon in the UK being up for sale already? Got put on to this by a friend (a footballer) who saw it at http://innovationcars.com/blog/lamborghini-revento... I suppose a footballer is one of the few who can afford it. But is it worth the dosh? It's really just a tarted-up LP640. Still, I suppose that if you've got the money it's worth it to have one of only 20 cars in the world, and probably the only one ever in the UK. Me, I'd get the LP640 and buy half of Lincolnshire with the change.

Its utter, utter sh1t.

If Lambo can find 25 'friends and collectors' to spend a million on an LP640 with a bad bodykit then good luck to them.

right: I couldn't afford a Reventón (yet!!!) and certainly couldn't live with one and definitely couldn't begin to justify having one if I could do either of the above!

but:

the Reventón has something intangible, something beyond explanation - the same 'passion beyond reason' that ALL Lamborghini cars have, to a greater or lesser degree...

Shoot me down if you want, go on... but I think the car is ruddy fantastic and the very thing a Lamborghini should be - a sharp divider of opinions at the first viewing - brilliant!

scratchchin

This is over the top IMO. It just doesn't look like it'll kill everything within 100 yards. The Gall, Murci, Diablo, Countach an Miura do . . .

If it was an extra £100K on top of an LP640 I could understand a few people wanting one just due to exclusivity but an extra £800K? Come on.

Apart from a body kit and different instuments it offers absolutely nothing over the standard car.

At least with things like the Ferrari FXX you get a significant inrease in performance and quite a few 'trackdays' with full Ferrari support at the worlds best tracks for your money.

I cant blame Lamborghini for making it because its a damn good money spinner for them but for me it just epitomises the phrase more money than sense.

I'm sure for £800K you could have a totally bespoke one off body made for you if you really want exclusivity.

Apart from the rear lights which hark back to the Countach I dont even like it.

I'll take a standard LP640 and a Zonda F Roadster for sunny days plus lots of change please.

The reason they are going to sell is because some customers want rare limited edition cars and one of 25 odd is very very rare. They dont care how much they cost aslong as its exclusive.

Don't mean to piss on your chips but the only Reventon in the UK is not up for sale! I can assure you of that!! Lamborghini have hand picked each customer for all 19 that are being sold (Lamborghini are keeping 1) So this website is total boocks chaps.

You might well be right, but in my experience anything is for sale at the right price. But maybe the best way to prove you're right is to get out the plastic and try to buy it!

Unfortunately i can't afford such a car but thankfully i do know the man that is buying the ONLY one coming in to the UK which is due for delivery between april and june next year depending on if they keep to the 2 and a half a month they expect to build! And when they are building it they are flying him over on their plane to see it in production.

This is the reason i know that it is rubbish and that they do not have one for sale!

Not in a postion to disagree. However, I suppose it's a consideration that the one they have for sale may be for sale on their site but not the one actually scheduled for the UK by Lambo. There's a choice of another 19 in the world.

Yes, I agree that the alleged one for sale is rubbish. I think that there is probably some agreement with all buyers that they do not sell the car on within a certain period. Apparently all 20 are sold with Lamborghini presumably keeping 0/20? i.e. 21 cars in total.

although I'm getting the impression that I'm just about the only person at the 'love it!' pole right now as it's all getting a bit chilly!

Any chance of some company round 'ere for a spot of shared warmth?

I bet it's nice and warm at the back of a just parked Reventón - there'll be one pulling in any year now...

Here is the promo video from Lambo http://www.topgear.com//content/timetoburn/section...

I quite like the look of the car but will reserve judgement until I see one up close.

Well I'll give you a little cuddle as I think and the missus agrees (most importantently) that the Reventon looks the bo**ocks. If I had a very large carrier bag full of spare cash I would buy one (but no chance) tomorrow.

I would agree that this sounds like rubbish - however the FXX's were getting offered around like condoms at a swingers party when they came out. I always think it's sad when collectors miss out to those who just want to make a fast buck.
