Pulley noise???

My car has developed a noise over the past few days - the best i can describe it as the noise you would get if you held a spanner on one of the pulleys whilst the engine is running - sort of metalic scraping noise. I think i have narrowed it down to the pulley (the bearing i think) that is on the nearside of the engine behind the swirl pot but i have no idea where to get a replacement (serpentine engine), is it standard landrover? Any advice appreciated..

Have a listen to it with a mechanic's stethoscope, makes it much easier to track down this sort of thing.

Are you sure it's not the serpentine belt tensioner making the noise?

Disconnect the fan belt for a very short test.
