Hi all,

Well I ocasionaly drop in here and show some of my very amatuer pics. So here I am again.

I went to Egypt at the begining of August this summer...55deg heat! yikes Obviously I took loads of pictures, but here are a few that I think came out ok.

Im nothing more than an amatuer, and the camera is just a Sony CyberShot 8.1MP job with a Carl Zeis lens (I used a small tripod for some of the night shots). I dont have a clue how to use Photoshop, so they are as they came from the camera.

Any opinions or thoughts are more than welcome. I'd appreciate the feedback. smile

Oh and if anyone wants to have a go in PS, then feel free. wink

Here they are.... let me know what you all think.

Regards,

James.

P.S sorry if the pics are too big, I dont know how to make them smaller? frown

Egypt was great. Like I say, very hot by lunch time, infact it was so warm that it made it allmost impossible to go out in direct sunlight between 12noon and 2pm.

We were on a Nile cruise with guided tours during the morning included in the holiday and extra tours in the afternoon for an additional cost (which we did most of, these were the more touristy things such as holding crocodiles, riding camels and going to the various Bizzares (markets) and a hot air baloon ride and a day trip to Abu-Simbel) We sailed to different cities during the evening / night so that way we got to see pretty much all of the temples and sites which are worth visiting. The food onboard the ship was fantastic with local dishes and some more European options too.

Once you are there its a very cheap place (£1 for four people to use the internet for an hour) Its hard to get used to the poverty, begging children and ignorance about animal welfare. But I suppose you have to remember that its a developing county in many ways, but its still abit of a shock to see police beating kids away who are trying to beg from the tourists. frown

A lot of people said to me before I went that its a dangerous place, but I didnt feel unsafe once. Yes, there are alot of men walking round with AK's and old HK's but there there for your safety (Tourism Police) quite how effective they would be who knows!!

I would definatley go back again, its a fantastic place. smile

James.

The standout pic for me there is the one of the hieroglyphs half in/out of the light. Excellent photo!

Some of the others are nicely executed, but fairly typical compositions (I'm just as guilty as you of that...you should see 99% of my hol pics...).
