The bulb in my speedo has blown and whilst the dash top is off, I want to replace all the bulbs with LED's.

Now does anyone know what type of bulbs / quantity I need for a 98 Chim? I did replace the dash but can't remember what the bulb types are and with the car in regular use, want to do it in one hit without taking the dash cover off to check cos it's a PITA removing / re-fitting as I'm sure most of you know!

Any help or advice would be great

I replaced all my Chimaera dash bulbs with LED's in pure white - with the white faced dials they are now much much clearer, and against the stainless steel dash look great. Cant remember exactly which bulbs they were but bought them from a site recomended on the cerbera forum. Some of the cerbera guys have blue / green / white LED's too. Search the cerbera forums and you should find it.

You have to reverse the polarity on some of the dials to make them work though - just trial and error worked on mine. Also took the time to do the cigarette lighter bulb in the door too.

The time consuming bit is getting the dash top off. Swapping the bulbs out will take no time at all!!

What about the bulbs to indicate lights on? I've had 2 go in quick succession. So if I've got to take the dash off I fancy the blue leds as well but need the lights on ones for mot.

EH ? What lights on bulbs ? If the lights are on the dahshboard instrument lights come on. That usually gives me a clue that I have done something interesting in the illumination department.... never heard of a lights on bulb. Maybe that was in the newer ones ? Is this something that new cars must have to pass an MOT none of my cars have one. Mind you the newest one is 7 years old now !

Sorry not very clear, on the earlier dashboard, the bulbs behind the dark panel which tell you if your side, head or foglights are on.

Aha, mine is also a '97 , I guess they must have changed the instrument panel in 97 and I got the later one !
