There is a question at the end so keep going!

1 owner from new (2000 X reg), a shade under 3000 miles on it......and then I got hold of it!

2.5 months, 3000 miles, 1 crash. frown

Stupid patch of gravel on the outside of a right hand bend! furious

Thing is, I made it through the first one, only to get caught by a second one as I tried to get back onto the road (luckily I went off into a layby so otherwise it would have been game over!). As it was I spent the night in hospital with a somewhat dislocated shoulder. Whilst I was in there, another biker was brought in with, nurse's words, "his leg hanging off". I guess it was nobody on here as I haven't seen it mentioned. Hope things got better for you dude. It certainly put my situation in perspective, although the fact that they ran out of gas made sure I was fully occupied with MY pain. frown

Anyways......do any of you enlightened people happen to know if a rear brake pedal/lever (for I happened to snap that along with an indicator & the top fairing) from a 2000 onwards GSXR600 will fit my X reg 2000 SRAD model? I only seem to be able to locate brake pedals/levers from K1 models onwards for some reason. confused

Ouch unlucky there.

At least you can mend yourself winkjester

Where are you looking for the levers, they should be fairly cheap from accessory stores. If looking on ebay they may only be the complete unit.

Tim.

Man I am so sorry to hear about your off, it sounds like a horrendous experiance frown. I hope you are mended and back out there soon. I do not have an answer for your question, I am sure there are people here who will.

I too had an off, but did not have the courage to post on here... paperbag I got caught on a righthander, slid on a pile of horse crap and almost got it back before the curb but not quite. Anyway lots of scratches and luckily no serious damage, to me or the bike. Got right back up and after a few more hundred miles I am getting back the confidence I had lost.

Get back out there and keep going.smile

Ah, sh!t. Sorry to hear that. However, yeah, think of the poor sod that was in with you. Glad you're relatively ok though. A new fairing and you'll be back in no time.

At least you lost the bits due to a proper crash... You can tell tales about how you outbraked some other rider, but came out a bit wide, etc... I broke a footpeg hanger a few weeks ago too. The bike fell off its stand. I'm still ashamed to that day.

More seriously, glad you didn't get hurt (much), and I hope your shoulder gets better soon!

Well done that man ^! I seem to be able to locate plenty for K1 onwards, just not mine, and as I'm being quoted £60+ yikes for the lever on it's own, I'd rather get a used one!

Thx for the replies guys. As has been mentioned, I was certainly a lot better off than the guy that was brought in!

Continuing in the same vein.......I was checking the bike over yesterday including the oil level which had seemed a bit iffy when I picked it up a couple of days after the crash, and promptly almost dropped it onto the other side! paperbag Combination of sight glass & no centre stand. Took all the strength I had (not much in my injured side) & a lot of leaning backwards not to let it go! I'm not sure I want to get back on it. It knows I can't look after it properly so it's trying to tell me to get back in the car! hehe

Good man. As I said, I'm being quoted the best part of £60, so if your Suzuki guy can do anything for me.......

Centurion,

Gutted for ya mate. Still, it happens to the best of us, and if this is your one drop then you've got off alright in the long run smile Do you have FC insurance? Just thinking it may be a right swine getting a replacement panel s/h and new prices will be sky high, so if you have FC, it might be easier just to swallow the excess and get it all sorted.

re Brake pedal - find out the model number and do some internet research, you may find it's the same peg as for other Suzukis and even some Kawasakis (brake calipers, for instance, are often the same). Then once you know which other models will fit, you can scour ebay for pegs from all the other models too - my TL1000R had a Hayabusa front wheel and brake disks on it, and I put TL1000R disks on my mates GSXR SRAD when he warped his original set - theyre all the same except the colour! So it's definately worth finding out what other models will go on smile

If I can help at all, just shout, but not sure if I can be of any assistance! I have a load of old ZX7R bits hanging about but doubt theyre much help! LOL

I'll hold fire till the weekend then. Ta.

I think as Blade pointed out, the lever isn't the same on later models. Think it's the same for the 750, but only of the that age! Not that I can find one anyways! frown

As for the fairing.........think it needs that whole side (little bit gouged as well as scratched to buggery), AS WELL as the front bit too. It's snapped around the air intake. Still, with the lever at least it will be rideable.
