I've never used them, but a friend of mine has used 1-2-Tint near Number 10 bowling (formerly SOlar Bowl).
They've done a good job on his cars in the past.

If you can get to Ipswich then speak to Nils at Autobody conditioning.

He'll do a stunning job, with really good staff - I've never had a problem with any of the cars I have had tinted there.

Can't recommend him highly enough - I have used him for all the cars I sold that needed tints. Offers a 5year warranty on all work as well.

I'd also like to add that I'm out of the trade now, and have no affiliation with Nils!!

I'd make the trip down to Ipswich if I were you

I know you're talking about plastic film stuck to the inside of the glass but is this how factory prepared cars are done when new? Or do they actually fit tinted glass during the build?

Depends on the make of car.

If it's a pukka "factory" job it's likely to be differnt glass, however, most of the supposed factory jobs turn out to be film applied at the UK import centre...

I'd personally always choose an aftermarket film install, as you can choose the shade of tint, and it's reversible. Also, if a window gets smashed it can be replaced from stock and then re-tinted, rather than waiting for a window to be shipped in to the UK in the correct tint.

My 2p

yes Superb chap. Thats where I got my VW Camper van/bus done (see profile). 10/10 service.
I had limo tint on all the back windows with slight mirror tint on the front and black tint accross the windscreen. Came to about £400 (lot of glass) I would use again.
