Has anyone fitted the modwise hot start fix to a Cerb, and if so did it work ok?

I had this problem for a while, much earlier in the year when we had a spell of hot weather.
My problems manifested usually after a reasonable length ride, after which I'd stop and try and start the car again, getting nothing but a click from the starter motor.
Sound familiar?
Well, mine's completely fixed now, but, after much investigation, and expecting it to be the classic hot start problem, it turned out not to be. In my investigations, the vast majority of people seem to think that this problem does not manifest in the Cerb.
My problem was actually the battery. You need enough power to turn the starter motor. If you are a little under, then it simply wont turn over, as opposed to trying half-heartedly...
The heat was a factor though. Aparently after a good run, heat soak into various components reduced their efficience - like the battery, or inceasing resistance in wires, to the extent that if your battery is on the way out, after a soaking of heat, there's not enough juice to kick the engine over - look and smells like the classic hot start problem.
I managed to test this by carrying round an £10 votlmeter from Maplins and found that when the car wouldn't start - volts/amps were down. Waiting for the systems to cool allowed me to start again - 20 minutes or so later.
Replaced the battery and haven't looked back.
Appreciate thats my particular problem... but figure the more experience that gets listed out, the better.
Hope that helps.
Phil.

£20 LOL!! do a search or go on my profile to check topics i've responded to over the last year. It should cost no more than a £1! theres a few people done this already and to date they've not had the prob return. looking at that ad i should think you could pick up the parts and make it your self for £3 or £4 but if it goes on the back of the starter motor with no protection i cant see it lasting long anyway imho.http://home.btconnect.com/djbeer/id32.html
