??? dvr police vehicle blues & two in London

Seen yesterday in the City of London in the early afternoon a dark blue coloured (overall) Dodge-style covered van (all front wings and slab sides) with 'blues' a-flashing and 'twos' a-blaring and "dvr Police" emblazoned on the side. Any ideas? - Streaky

Looking at the interior photo appears to have an auto box with a column selector.

They have auto boxes as standard but the column selector( what? handle pole/stalk...STICK) might LOOK like a stick to the writer!

i saw something similar in orpington the other week, a dark blue, what looked like a mercedes sprinter van being escorted down court road/sevenoaks way by 3 mercedes e-class police cars with B and T's with one going ahead to stop traffic whilst the others went at the front and rear of this vehicle
