Anyone has experience of Piaggio Vespa 125 gt?

Sorry Trump - Can't let than one go.
My son bought a new Gt125 and then went the DAS route and rides a CBR600.
I inherited the Vespa just 2 years ago and to
cut a long story short moved onto a Yam XT125X after 6 months before taking my DAS and today I've just put 1000mls on my new CBF500. Bithday in 2 weeks for the big soixante!
To answer the question, it put me onto 2 wheels, and for a short while it was great, but we had about 3, possibly 4 drive pulley failures where the alloy expanding pulley rubbed its centre off on the splined crankshaft. The last time, I managed to change the pulley in 45-50 mins but the dealere was looking for £100+ to do teh job.
I ordered the parts off T'internet, and the specialist said it was a known problem with the GT125. I could see a time when the steel splines would strip off, so got rid and traded in having done the pulley for the last time. To be fair, he said that Vespa were aware of the problem and were redesigning the pulley but I think my last failure was with a new part !
My advice is give it a miss - get a lighter bike like the Yam which is far more usable and more manoeverable.
Hope this helps

I have a GTS 125 for my London commute and I love it....it's transformed my life!
I have no experience of any other bikes but it beats most things off the lights and is one of the faster scooters out there. As for being heavy, it doesn't feel it to me but as I say, I have no experience of anything else.
I need to do longer journeys at weekends so am looking to do my DAS and get onto a 600.....therefore the GTS is up for sale if you fancy it?!
