Gallardo vs Murci
Discussion
I have owened a gorgeous black G since January now, and I have to say I am totally in love with the car. It's perfect in almost everyway.
However, the child in me still wants something bigger, faster, and with "those doors".
The problem is this; the gallardo is great as its not too wide, not too low and i can drive it to the shops without worrying too much above speed bumps and how the hell i am going to park the bugger in certain places.
I live in london, and whilst i try not to use it just to drive around town, I do like to know I can do that without too much hassle.
I was wondering what peoples experiences are of owning a murci in a city? Does the width and ground clearance prove to be an issue, or is it a easy to use as a G?
Thanks for any input!
John

Being the proud owner of both, I dont really notice any width issues with the murcie (the gallardo is 6 foot wide anyway). As for speed bumps etc the LP is actually easier than the Gallardo is it has the lift system. The seats aren't as good in the murcie, but the doors really are business. If I had to pick one out of the two it'd very a very tough choice but I think it'd have to be the LP. The sound and handling of Gallardo do take a hell of alot of beating though.

All Murci's have the lift system. I have driven both around London and agree with Andy, not much in it but I would say the G would be just ahead in traffic conditions - as you can nip in and out of traffic easier. I would def go for a manual though as its easier to creep along in traffic jams!!

Is that right? even the really early ones? I thought it was just an option?Melz said:

Right well sounds like there is little downside then! Better start looking for a Murci! Looks like the early ones are starting to trade around the 100k mark which is not bad for such an amazing motor!
Very little downside, you have Mike Pullen 40 mins from central london for anything that needs doing in between service and if you want to keep main dealer service history..Sean Knight at Lambo London will look after you, plus you get invited to all sorts of free events which have even made some of our Ferrari brothers think about switching brands!!I drive my Murcielago around London all the time. Speed bumps are no problem, EVEN with the lifting system down to be honest. The lifting system is really only needed for very sharp gradient petrol station (etc).
I know everyone always says this, but the car 'wraps around you', after a while the width does not even come into the equation. To me it feels the same as a 360 or 355 now.
Dont necessarily go for the cheapest car either, you can get a much better car for just 5-10K more than the cheapest - that is what I found when I was shopping for mine! Good luck

Hey, I'm sure I have seen your car around canary wharf, the number plate spacing looks familar, do you drive around that area?I know everyone always says this, but the car 'wraps around you', after a while the width does not even come into the equation. To me it feels the same as a 360 or 355 now.
