Guys,

I've not had my car running for almost a year now (1974 1275GT) so looking to get it out the garage this weekend and turn it over. Any tips for getting it going....going to stick the battery on charge tonight. Stick a gallon of "new" petrol in it, anything else?

Thanks
C

Wee drop of either light oil or a bit of diesel in the bores. Then I rock the car with it in gear, just in case something is stuck, as I don't want it to break when the starter kicks in. Then turn on the starter with the plugs out until at least the oil pressure light goes out, or the gauge gets to >10-15 psi. Then plugs in and see what happens. If it goes, don't let it idle for few minutes, hold the revs up a bit to aid with getting the oil round quickly.
