EFI Fault showing on LCD display
Discussion
Help!!
displaying 'EFI Fault' that is staying on 99% of the time. Only appears when the engine is started and not when the ignition is on .
(Meaning when its stopped I can see all the readings i.e water, oil temp).
Has anyone had the same problem?
Can anyone recommend a good tvr dealer or specialist for servicing and fault finding in the Horndean, Hampshire area ?
Cheers

Had exactly the same recently
Took it down to my local garage, they plugged it into the laptop cleared the error, checked all diagnostics and then sent me on my way, FOC nothing to worry about.
The poor bloke behind me same fault, major issue with the lambada sensors, expensive fix.
Conclusion it might be nothing, it might be a major problem, in any event you need to get it looked at.

Mine too is my daily drive and mine too sounded fine, apparently the problem is that the EFI fault alters the mix to the engine therefore you need to have it cleared even if theres nothing wrong.
If it should be something more serious then obviously you should get it looked at a priority before it turns into something catastrophic.
The only other thing I'd add is that sometimes you get a "temporary" EFI fault if the car is absolutely soaking wet, but this doesn't sound like what you have here.

I've seen the 'EFI fault' before when its been raining but the alerts would disappear almost straight away!. This time its only 99% ..
Don't know weather to give it a hard drive on the weekend to see if it clears or drive slowly to the nearest garage ?
I do have ODB tool that i've used in the past to remap ECU for my 306 diesel. If i can get the correct software to run with my laptop (win XP) hope I can clear the logs to see if this resolves the problem . If anyone can help please post or email software to andy-mills@orange.net
Many Thanks

If this is the same car that is producing smoke from under the bonnet, you might well be cooking your cats if you are not careful! Seriously, if things were that bad, I'm sure you would notice other problems caused by running too rich or whatever. If you haven't got to the bottom of the smoke issue, then I'd be tempted to look for a problem causing both.
For what it's worth, the persistent EFI fault on my car was caused by a dodgy connector on the fuel gauge connection accessed under the flap in the boot - the only symptom was the EFI fault warning.
