For once here's a good news story. I got a Gunsons pro CO meter a couple of years ago which survived testing the wedge emissions twice before it wouldn't calibrate (gunsons claimed the sensor was contaminated i.e. user fault?). I wanted to check the griff so I had another go at mending it, re-soldered all the joints on the board, replaced the chips, electrolitics and trim pots, it did then cal sometimes but mostly not. Picked up a blue-point branded unit off ebay which looked great but had been butchered inside, the sensor element had broken and someone had tried to replace the element wire with a thin copper strand! (as ever the seller claimed it used to work fine and no repairs had been attempted?). Found a similar unit on ebay 2 days later branded motortune, it had a fair bit of commercial use and the sampling pump was a bit weak on flow and all the plastic connectors were brittle. After using the best bits from each I now have a unit that looks excellent and appears to work fine on the old wedge engine - RESULT!!!!!!! and all for £25. Now I can to work on setting the griff up Hopefully?????

If you get problems again then keep searching for a Sun MGA1200 machine(Ebay etc),it is a workshop quality professional 4 gas machine, but they are old now(hence cheapwink), if you can get a working machine(a must) you wont look back(very robust)you may even be lucky to get a printer also consumables are readily available too.
