My oil pressure gauge suddenly decided to read 60+ psi even with the engine off. Bible says check the wire. On first inspection this seems to be ok. suspected oil pressure sender. Are there any other checks to do before going to get another?
Is there an alternative part or TVR? Preumably Landrover??
BTW pressure switch appears ok and light extinguishes
Many thanks

Measure the resistance of the sender with the engine stopped, and running. (Carefully, because of all the various hot and moving parts in the area.)

Give it a good clean up with sandpaper to get all the crud of the connector. Does sound like it might be broken though. When mine needs cleaning it normally makes the dial read low not high.

Thanks to you both. Checking the resistance seems a bally good idea. I should have thought of that. T'will do tomorrow, after the GP and hopefully celebrating Mr Hamilton being world champ.clap
