Hi, I bought a canon a570is after a lot of reading around and looking at sample pictures (I even searched on here) as a straightforward point & shoot with scope for a little more if you know what youre doing.

Trouble is the pictures seem to be a little washed out - for them to look right I have to pop them into photoshop and up the saturation about 5 - 10 points.

Is this a problem with the camera / my photo taking ability / my left shoe?

Heres a link to my ebay auction with pictures (after saturation adjustment) taken using the camera

Afraid I dont have the source pics for that one anymore but heres another picture taken using it of my shedmobile, which despite how the picture appears the paint is actually proper red and in quite reasonable order (for its age)

You can increase the saturation in the camera - if you go to the function menu, there should be a 'My Colors' option. If you set it to vivid, it will make the colours more bold. There may be an option to adjust the saturation separately, but I'm not familiar with that model.
