Hello,

I am very interested in a Cerbera and am loking at the V8 rather than 6. A few questions for all of you who know more than I do. Searching around the web I am a bit worried about the chassis rot on fairly new cars. Is there a place I can look at that will fully explain this and what the potential costs of refurb are. Also any buying guides would be good as well as any reliable forums that are out there. My budget is around 13K.

Thanks in advance.

Hello mate, what a great choice of car, a word of advice, do not by any stretch of the imagination buy a cerb without a professional inspection, it costs about 200 quid and its worth every single penny. Speak to Rob Ingleby (findasportscar.co.uk). He knows his stuff and what to look for and where in terma of chassis, and mechanicals. find the cars you like and gt him to inspect them for you. you will not regret it.

good luck

13K = a 97 ish car or earlier. That means the chassis will have some corrision. some are awful and others are ok. BUT you cant see all the rot. Engine out reveals more around the manifolds area of the chassis. Some can be repaired in situ for a few hundred pounds. Body off restoration of chassis = £10K I would guess.
