Arhh,

My passion for TVR's and curry has gone all horribly wrong resulting in a nasty yellow curry stain on my passenger seat.

I've tried Vanish and a good clean with proper leather cleaner but the stain is still there . Any further ideas???

Talk about being a complete doofus!!

Help....

Gliptone Liquid Leather works well on all TVR upholstery and is recommended by TVR.....

Yes, the liquid leather stuff works, but you do have to put your back into it - lots of wrist action...

Cheers,

I can vouch for liquid leather (the product). But see for yourself at the following address:

www.liquidleather.com

But as for the staff, I called for advice but the chap at the other end was short, to the point and unwilling to chat.

Exactly the same happened 2 years ago - complete horror - discovered it next morning..
Being addicted to Autoglum products, went through full collection - bar one - then in blind deparation....
'clean machine' - engine bay cleaner. This was on grey leather of ex-S2 - guess what - near perfect results in 10 mins - and saw the car today as a pal took it off me- still 100% fine. So X your fingers & try it (usual diclaimers apply..)

Cheers Ed,

Glad to know theres some fellow insomniacs (sp).

I'll give that 'clean machine' a go. I tried white spirit also (followed quickly by leather cleaner to ensure I didn't completly bugger the seat).

Will use x-treme caution since my interior is tan (now with a hint of yellow!!).

I'd rather try that kind of stuff rather than abrasive cloths etc.

The seats in my S3 were filthy when I bought it and a car valenter gave me the tip of using an engine degreaser mixed with water (change the mix depending on how bad the staining is).

I used a 50/50 water with 'Gunk' mix and the end results was quite amazing. You don't even need to use much elbow grease ! I used leather food afterwards to ensure that any oils that had been stripped were replaced and have repeated this a couple of times since. The leather looks great and it hasn't done it any harm whatsoever (I did this about 6 months ago).

Happy cleaning...

I've just ordered some of the liquid leather conditioner (thanks for the link been after it for a while!) and I must have spoken to the same guy because he was very short almost to the point of being rude! I just want the smell of leather back in the car...

Thanks also for the engine degreasant tip - can this be used on the plastic bit of half hide?

I assume so, but do you need to put anything on after? (leather conditioner seems expensive option!)

This may appear mad but try some of your good ladies make up remover (or your own I suppose )

Basically "feed" the leather with normal moisturiser leave it for a couple of hours then get the make up remover out you might be pleasently suprised. (your skin is after all a form of hide!)

Yeah I remember him. Product good, trouble for me was that the 'my dad's old Jag' leather smell hid the TVR sexy leather smell, if you know what I mean
