Uk Speed Cameras

Question :

Does anybody have a rough idea how many "static" speed cameras there are up and running in this country (all, including ones with no film etc)? I realise that they have probably fitted another 10 whilst I have typed this but just ball park figures.

Origin Bluei people reckon its about 4500+ and that was about 2 years ago.

Probably nearing the 6000 mark now!
