At the same time he could instruct then on how to cheat and get away with it.

McLaren are so bad at it that even when they don't cheat they still get found guilty of it.

Mind you, with the poor timing of Ferrari's pitstops in terms of bringing their drivers out in traffic, I'd say that he's needed back there....
