end of an era

my baby goes this week. after two years of tvr ownership and trying to run two cars i've had to make a decision more with the head than the heart. By next weekend i'll be in a 911 c4s. I have really mixed feelings.

Cleaned her up yesterday and noticed a scratch clearly done by some envious chav. She would never have allowed that to happen to her if she wasn't sulking! Infact in two years the worst i've had done to her is the dust caps going. Drove her to the garage then went into Manchester for the afteroon. More than ever I noticed the positive looks from young and old. Parked up and returned to find a crowd around the simply admiring her. No way will i get anything like this in a common porsche.

Over the two years i've found her to be the most amazing thing and the most frustrating. Just like every woman i've ever known truth be told. Whilst breaking down has not by any means been as common an occurance as some would have us believe what really wound me up was the delay in getting parts. So a 1 day job for any other car became a one month wait or a niggle that i just ended up living with.

The question I ask myself is not whether I'll be back but rather when. I have a sagaris itch and as soon as i work out how i can run two cars again i'll be back. For months i've been admiring the orange one from dream machines thats recently sold. See again just like beautiful women. You know they're going to burn you but you just can't stay away..until we meet again
