I know this may sound a bit thick, but has anyone got a step by step guide to changing the oil on a 3.6 Tuscan 2?

Knew there must be a 3.6 Mk 2 out there somewhere....
Dave Smart @ Automedon did and oil change for me...I was concerned about getting as much oil out as poss...he drained the oil tank (one plug I think) and the sump???(or was ever)..another plug....then disconnected all the oil braided pipes...in total we got about 10 litres out of a 4 litre engine....God knows where the other 2.5 litres hide...I've heard stories of Power tilting the car to get more out...but I don't think you ever make the 12.6 litres (I'm guessing know that the handbook says)

The reason they tilt them is the drain plug in the block is on the side, not underneath. If your going to do your oil change, measure every bit you discharge.

Easy

1) drive to and independant

2) leave the car with them for a few hours

3) drive home with clean hands

I looked into doing the oil change myself at 3000 miles in between the services, I spoke to JMS who did the oil and filter for about £10 more than I could buy 10 litres of oil and a filter for even with my trade card, so I just let them do it.

On another active thread MARCOTVR appears to have one and E2DJH is looking at one and only a couple appear in PH classified.NTEL says only 4litres were available Aug 2005, I thought MK2s came out late 2004...Therefore I'm guessing 3.6 litre Mk2s must only have been built in the first 6 months of MK2 prodduction.

an interesting question, do any dealers actually do the full oil change, my main dealer has always charged me for 7 litres of oil, which is obviously not all the oil.

Although interestingly when dropping the new engine in they only charged me for 7 litres again, and obviously on an empty engine dry sump system it would require more.

Just checked my handbook...in fact it says 11 litres first fill, 8 litres max after that...So implies 3 litres left.

Yep, I do indeed have one. Not had the oil changed whilst in my ownership, it was done by the dealership before I picked it up.

As for Mk2 3.6 production, the first six months only would fit mine as it is an '05 plate.
