Another way to approach the problem: find a good independent suspension specialist and take their advice on the most appropriate brand and spec and get them to set them up. If you are sure you want to DIY then my short list would be Nitron, Protech, Gaz. But unless you know enough to spec them and set them up yourself it would IMO be a mistake to just buy off the shelf.

It really all depends on what you use the car for. With dampers you usually get what you pay for.
I wont say what I think are the worst because that will upset the suppliers but I would say that one of the best are Ohlins.

Just as important as the damper is the fitter, look on here to see who the best fitters are. I use Top Cats and have Nitrons fitted but I live in the South East.

I have just had the 10yr old originals replaced with new Proteks and although i have only done a 100 (cold and damp) miles, they feel fantastic ! Will try to remember to post an update here after i have a few more miles under my belt.

I have used Topcats to fit and set up my car on Nitrons and can also highly recommend them! After a couple of trial runs they have now set the car up brilliantly...feels incredibly confidence inspiring and capable at the limit....fun rather than scary!

Yep I too used Top Cats but I went for Gaz Golds. Warren gives good and frank advice.
