Probably to be placed right near a supposed dangerous crash site, making it even more dangerous with a whacking great unbendable post. Nice

I could imagine many local communities becoming very unhappy with the aesthetics of this. Imagine a 12-foot-plus green metal tree trunk being "planted" at the side of the road in an otherwise pleasant environment. Gatsos are bad enough but this is just horrible. It just goes to show how the pro-camera lobby disregard anything other than their holy grail of zero KSIs "at speed camera sites": "Preserve a life -- kill the environment".

In the war of ordanance verses armour, armour always loses hehe

If these are fixed their location will be known and anybody with a GPS device will be able to avoid them as they do now. Immovable street furniture is the absolute last thing you want at an accident blackspot.....

Surely you can EMP it and fry everything, before it even knows it's being attacked or whatever.

And if you just put the location in your GPS, you should never really get caught either.

Hardly an issue these days is it? Big fixed camera with loads of tech, but if you just slow down and then speed up it's useless and just generates more pollution/traffic noise if it's used where average safe speed is higher... (ie, it's enforcing a stupid limit)

Rather than burning them we will just have to go firework shopping...

BOOM!!!!!

alerting the nearest station and downloading the images won't be much use with the amount of warning it will get!

If an easier camera to disable had ever been invented than thats the one.

A couple of potatoe sacks plonked over the top and ... hey whassup I can't see.

Obviously as mentioned paint on the lenses while not 'killing' the camera would make it inoperable.

with a paintball gun you don't have to be very close to "decorate it" you would be able to cover it in seconds!

mmmmmmmmmm now what colour would go with that green coffee does anyone know a good paintball gun that would be up to the job? fairly cheap one mind say £100

The gun's not the problem, you'd have to replace the biodegradable & water soluble paintballs with something more permanent.

Now what could £30,000- £50,000 be spent on.........

Let me think the transport bill that Brown was meant to do(exleast it would be a start).

Or i could just buy this:
