Anybody else confused as to why they shortened the race as opposed to cancelling the parade laps ?

I don't understand ? From what I saw, there weren't even any decent cars in the parade laps ?

Don't know what you're referring to but as an organiser, it's not always possible to cancel "add on" activities, they are often in the contract and are "must do's". It's often the commercial activities that underwrite the rest of the costs.

Should expand really, went to, what was titled, the Spa Historic 6 Hour this weekend. However, all the drivers got in their cars for the 4pm start, all pulled out of their pit garages to go out for the green flag lap, and were then stopped at the end of the pit lane.

Everybody wondered what was going on and suddenly a load of 'public' cars went past on a parade lap, then again and then again....

So much so, the race did not start until 5pm and the winner was declared as the first person who crossed the line after 9.50pm.

The whole event was named after and based around the 6 hour race, and they cut it short for some poxy parade laps frown

Commercial or not, I do not know, but I imagine the people doing the parade laps would have put in a comparative drop in the ocean compared to the money and efforts put in by the 84 entrants into the 6 hour race.
