GTS Stereo Upgrade

I'm hoping a fellow GTS owner can help me out here. I've searched about, but only found information relating to the Monaro so far.

Has anyone upgraded to a single din stereo, and if so what did you do to replace the second din space? I'm ideally after a cup holder, as I do a lot of mileage etc. Is the best option stero-wise, just to upgrade the head-unit, or are there amps etc buried away?

There are not too many GTS owners on here nowadays and most people have done double DIN upgrades so I won't bore you with my £10k install, hope someone can enlighten you. Would recc you give these guys a call as the know the GTS very well...

I was wondering if the Saab unit would fit, or this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DIN-Drink-Can-Cup-Holder-Tra... but want to be sure that it will match the interior.

I'll contact accutek and see what they advise.

It looks like it mounts from behind so you would have to be creative. The finish should be ok as SAAB and HSV are all part of GM and it looks ok to me. If you were going to go down this route it would probably be best to take the stereo out and have a measure. I seem to remember the bottom of the slot was tight when I was installing the touch screen in my GTS.

Fair comment and thanks for the heads up. To be honest I don't know how the standard stereo is fitted and locked in position as I haven't pulled it out yet, hence asking for advice here. I'll do some digging when I get time and see what's what.
