HI Mate,

I would recommend getting the latest edition of the EVO mag. They did a test on tyres and the test car was a Golf GTi.

They rated the new Eagle F1 Assymentrics and also the Vredestein tyres.

I know a lot of people are now using Falken tyres for the money as they are considerably cheaper than most. Im running Conti sports on my GTi as from the factory and I've not had a problem yet. Gunna need changing at about 10k aswell.

i have a mk3 gti, i got quoted £80 per tyre as there low profile (ud think less rubber so they'd be cheaper, how wrong i was lol)
and then i remember i have a mate that works for ford, so i ring him up and he gets me a two tyres that should have cost me £160 i got them for £80. so i think u should become mates with some one that works in the motoring industry.

I have just changed all 4 tyres on my MK5 GTI after 16K miles. I have swapped to Michelin Pilot Sport2 all round.
Also, get your alignment checked - as mine was 'out' !

Take a ride out and down to Micheldever Tyres near basinggrad.. Always cheapest and they know how to fit them!

As for make, I have F1's and P-Zero Rosso, will be trying the new F1's next - not overly happy with the P-Zero's...
