Over 2 years & 16k miles & my first problem!

It had to happen my baby finally decided to eat his clutch yesterday on the M6 while in a traffic jam. So at 26k miles my car has it's first problem & needs a new clutch, not bad considering i've done over 16k miles in him since I got him & the previous owner had no problems either.
My only issues is having to wait for 4 1/2 hours on the M6 for the AA to send someone who was willing to take a dog as well as 2 adults home !!
I take it from on here I should expect to pay around £1k for a replacement? I'm just waiting for Ian at Torque RVT to call me back.
If anyone saw a Rolex blue Tuscan sat on M6 southbound between Lancaster & Lakes between 5 - 930pm last night that was me! (saw a white wedge go by along with 4 different Astons)

Depends what's going. Mine was getting harder and harder to operate smoothly, becoming increasingly jerky/grabby - this was a failure of the slave cylinder rather than loss of clutch friction material.

Not with me no I was stuck in a traffic jam on the M6 when I realised my car was still moving forward despite clutch being in Managed to move across to hard shoulder despite people being reluctant to let me in once on hard shoulder & taken out of gear there is no way car will let you get it back in gear!

I had a new clutch last month. It got increasing more difficult to put the car into gear. The it would not go into gear at all.

TVR Centre were brilliant. The new clutch has transformed the car.

Just replaced all my Sagaris clutch bits;

Hope this info helps Tuscans

Slave leaked at 2k miles, stopped leaking at 4k miles.

First & reverse always akward from 0 miles
Getting difficult when cold at 3k miles to double clutching at 5k miles
1 ,2 ,3 nearly impossible to get.

Got the lot out and found:-

Clutch friction plate- not worn.

Slave leaking and thrust bearing noisy and without lubrication.



Spring fingers intact but worn on ends on thrust bearing contact points; reduced spring load found with test equipment.




Clutch fork/yolke worn in base




Thrust faces- few hot spots but OK




THE REPLACEMENTS

New Clutch Assembly ;Spring properly heat treated with larger contact area and induction hardened to stop wear



Raceproved Clutch Assembly




Raceproved lightweight aluminium slave with PTFE coated sliding surfaces




RESULT:

Silky smooth changes including 1st, & reverse.

No slave leaks and don't expect any.

Drives like a different car; no missed gears

5 Hours labour

PS FumeTroll; I don't know how it gets that clean but it alawys come back like that from the dealer.
