centre console removal ?
Discussion
I found that after you take the two screws out you can remove the console by lifting out from under the cover at the rear, well force it out is probably closer to the truth. Once you have lifted the back of it out, you will need to remove the gear knob and undo 3 bolts under the console to leave the handbrake and surround behind. At least, that's what was required with my car.

Aggree 100% with howard, thats what i had to do.as i needed to remove the molding that houses the rear roller blind to get it stitched.which was held down by the centre console. If you are planning to do the same as me, you get to the 4 mounting bolts of the moulding by removing both back wheels, bet you don't get the nuts off without breaking at least oneHoward

thanks Guys - but I'm now confused. Are you saying I need to remove the luggage blind piece before I try and remove the centre console ?
Also the back of the console is very firmily fixed - but I see no screws ?
Also what do you use to re-glue the gart lever gaitor - just eveostick ?
I don't suppose anyone has any pictures !!!
Thanks
Geoff

Just put a new gaitor in my T350. You don't need to remove the luggage blind/cover section at all, but you will need to apply a bit of brute force to lift out the rear section of the centre console from underneath it. I have an older T350c and there were no screws securing the front sections of the console. There is however, a wingnut screw that can only be removed via the ash tray opening, once the ash tray has been removed. I couldn't get the wingnut back on - you need the fingers of a 6 year old !. Instead I hack-sawed off the screw and used a few high "strength" velcro strips to secure the console back down in various places. This has worked a treat and you will never miss the wingnut screw if you decide as I did to remove it. As for sticking the gaitor back on, I used spray on evostick which works very well - it's a bit messy to use and for best results you need to apply it to both surfaces that are to be stuck together. If you use the "spray on" glue my advice would be to not actually spray it directly on to the 2 surfaces, but to paint it on using a brush - you get much better coverage with less mess to clean off afterwards.
Good luck.
I Tried to remove my console without removing the roller blind moulding and it wouldn't go. If anyone has managed to do it without removing the roller blind??let us all know how you did it, There are no visible fixings viewable from inside the car for the roller blind, they are a Bighead fasteners built in during manufacture.
You can see the nuts and washers if you look carefully between the spokes at the top, they face straight down to the road on a flat panel.
I suppose if you had arms like an octupus you could undo them leaving the wheels on, but i couldn't.
Good luck...Dave
