S Club Heaven 2008 Organiser

I don't want to hog all the glory so I am not going to be organising S Club Heaven next year. This means we need a volunteer to head the organising team. It's not too onerous and you get the satisfaction of seeing all the happy, smiling faces on the day and knowing you had a hand in it.
One of the most difficult tasks is to find a venue and there has already been some discussion about this (see here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
I will be available to help pre-event but at the moment I'm not sure whether I'll make the event itself.
So, who's going to stick their hand up and volunteer?

OK:
1. General: Midlands is good because it's erm, in the middle (although I would be happy to travel elsewhere. It may be better to be near a major road network (e.g. motorway). The venue needs to have parking, refreshments, somewehere to stay nearby. Ideally, a local attraction to provide focus (e.g. race track/mueseum) or entertainment for those who are not so interested in cars.
2. I enjoy wandering around and chatting to people, but as in the above, another focus would be good. I also enjoy a drive out (hence the interest in TVRs
). If it's at a hotel, then some form of relatively inexpensive (so as not to price people out) function is good (barbecue or whatever). If we were near a track then perhaps some activity on that.
3. I have been to Ettington and Coventry. Ettington was a nice venue, but missing the hotel providing an adequate service for its customers, but I do quite like the idea of being based at a hotel for those that wish to stay. Coventry was good as it provided the alternative focus I mentioned above.
4. The weather! I think a drive is very good, I'm sure others will be more imaginative than me. This could be important as I wouldn't want the numbers to dwindle (perhaps the pre 80s could be combined - economy of scale, more variety etc).
5. Three main reasons - to meet up with people old and new - to look at the cars - to enjoy myself.
I'm sure Longers started a similar thread some time ago, and there were a few ideas on that.

Ettington was good for the Wedge/Griff this year, and the White Horse was handy for a BBQ in the evening. The Griffs also went in to Stratford for a curry. Easy from M40 as well, and good roads for a run out.
The Motor Musuem handy as it has the.........urmmm.........museum, and close to M40, again good roads for a run out.
Didn't do Coventry as didn't fancy the location and also busy that day, also got the impression that not as much happens at S Club as with the other TVR model meets, which perhaps puts some people off.

Now watch it buster, I live just up the road from Ettington and it's a very nice village thank you.
On another matter........Griffs.......dont mention swapping because that was half the reason I put my S up for sale (even if it was only for a few days).
I'm not discounting helping out with the organising, can I just get my holiday out of the way first. Also depends what exactly you would like me to organise, but sure my arm can be twisted somewhere down the line.
this of course is on the condition of 'prime spot' parking at the choosen location.

nice village great pub.nothing else to do except tyre kicking though
My tupney's worth - for what its worth.
My "heaven" Would be a weekends worth of S's with plenty of driving, sociable stuff as well as some tyre kicking/admiration.
It was my first Heaven last year and while i enjoyed it - there was a little too much tyre kicking with not enough driving - it was also too close to me to warrant making a week-end of it.
So my suggestions...
Location Blackpool(prom) North Wales (Evo trianglr area) or Derbyshire (cat and fiddle) Bearing in mind some guys come from scotland and the north east this would be a "thank-you" for their dedication.
Meet saturday lunch time for a hoon. Hotel/pub with rooms/campsite saturday evening for BBQ/curry, beers etc. Then another hoon sunday morning to the "show" area. I realise this isnt going to thrill the polishers but surely a big grin from a cavalcade through town would easly outstrip some dirt?
So its my idea of heaven...shoot me down in flames!
(Regards the organising - i dont mind helping but i dont do "politics" - so i would be happy to be a footsoldier to a more errudite, tactful and charming leader)
