I watched this race. Gracey and Boss's Healey took class Pole and then ended up 2nd in class, despite being up to 4 secs a lap faster than the winner, due to a Safety Car issue. Top top racing smile

Neil Howe beat the Big Healeys - that is going some for and FIA Spec TR4!

Wishe I could have done it but our 6's Gasket went at Snett - so it would have gone in Pratice - mind and easy change in a few hours - must start saving for this. Alot from the Thoroughbredsportscars.com were there. Chris Aklam, Tony Lee's, Tim Falce, Andy Green to name but a few.....

Trust me Jelly, if it wasnt for a safety car cockup (they used 2 safety cars for some reason? Splitting the pack in two) the Healy would have (did have) the beating of the TR4

Yep agree it should - shed loads more power even though TR might corner a tad better.

The last lap was interesting for me to say the least. I came out of La Source racing Phil Froud's GT40 only to find Tim Burnett who had thought the race was over and decided to slow to a near stop to turn off the track, three other cars slowed as well leaving Phil and me with not much room.
The chequered flag must have gone out soon after though as my last lap was greeted with two sets of white flags and two trucks on track and a third white flag just before the Bus Stop and I finished the race behind the medical car, all very surreal indeed.
BTW I have around 200 pictures from other races and my incar video that I'll put up soon.

Yep but the Results are this years.

WHY NO Bonkers Cobra? (ThunderRoad one - not that I think it was in keeping with the other cars on the grid - Sorry Philwink).

Were the Healeys and TR's on L sections (or other old crossply stuff) or modern rubber?

The front running Astons were cloud9

Cant rememeber (more like didnt know) what was leading for most of the race, looked sorta D Type Jagish, but it was feckin awesome. Dropped out after about 40 minutes to leave the Astons with the placings.

Did I see a Morris Minor running around?

bow of the day went to the 'Special'?? that looked like a small old Bently, running ooober thin tyres and alledgedkly running an 'plane engine! Was funny watching the driver pump fuel furiously each time he went through Eau Rouge

The matt black thingy with four exhaust pipes sticking upwards at either side of the bonnet? That's a 1922 GN (a car that was sitting at the 'sporty' end of the cyclecar market at the time, hence why it's so tiny) - only this one didn't sport a JAP V2 motorcycle engine but something with four times the cylinders and 6.2 litres...

How it got homologated in any class I don't know... my guess is the conversion to a 'special' dates back far enough for it to be 'historic' in its own right... probably done in the '50s...

Will trywink

It is at the end of a Hard seasons racing though. Maybe with 2 cars for 08 I'll have at least one in a good state.
