Good, can we contribute to the legal costs - that would be worth a few quid.

If ever anything brought the sport into disrepute it was the comments from MM. I hope JYS pursues this action as it would be interesting to see MM defend this, whilst trying to uphold his position of the arbiter of repute in motorsport.

Does no one else think that is a bit pathetic? Max called him a name, so it is now wasting pages in Autosport reporting about how Jackie is going to sue him. Is the only way to sort things out in F1 through the courts?

As for the McLaren thing, he should just let it lie I think. All it will do is make F1 look even more corrupt then it is, as everyone knows Jackie likes Hamilton. Having 2 leaders of F1 fighting in court for their (by the looks of it) favorite team would do nothing for the sport.

No I don't think it's pathetic, personally I think the ideea of someone in MM's position making offensive comments about someone else involved in the sport is wrong. I would like to think that the President of the FIA has better manners and judgment.

I don't think anyone is talking about their favourite teams, it's about MM making offensive and defamatory statements about an individual. If that individual feels that these statements harm their reputation in any way and they can persuade a court of this then that's all that matters.

I really hope Jackie sues Max, The comments Max made were insulting and wrong and completely uncalled for. They showed Max for what he really is a stupid, ignorant incompetent despot that is has a serious ego problem. Max has brought F1 into disrepute over his comments and should resign immediately as he shown he is incapable of running the FIA. He changed what the FIA stands for it was once Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile

It then became Ferrari’s Internal Advisors, under Max F***ing Incompitent A***holes seems more appropriate.

If it drags F1 through the mud, then so be it. Better than having a corrupt administration that will do the same in the long run.

Anyone else get the impression the Damon has got him self a ghost-writer? I agree completely with his sentiments but they just seem a little more erudite than usual.

I dunno but it's great! I love his use of "bad mannered" what a dreadfully evocative picture it builds and its all the better for coming from someone like Damon with his heritage within the sport.

We don't know what damage Max Moselys comments have done to Jackie Stewarts reputation in the paddock and sponsor circles he moves in. If he has been harmed then of course he should sue, or at least obtain a grovelling apology. As long as the McClaren fine isn't used to fund MMs defence!

As I said, that's a decision for a court to make.

Sorry, but I don't think it is at all pathetic of JYS. I think it may be appropriate to say it was pathetic of MM to make the comments he did, but having done so it is only fair that JYS has the chance to respond to those comments. As MM seems to have lost the capability for rationality recently then it is reasonable to consider legal action, especially as MM has said that he stands by his comments. JYS is regularly asked to comment on F1 in his capacity as a triple ex world champion, an ex team owner and someone who is still actively involved at each race, in addition to his roles within the BRDC. I don't think the comments made by JYS after the WMSC decision regarding McLaren had much to do with his liking of Hamilton, more the feeling shared by many that the verdict was flawed and the fine excessive. JYS did not, to my recollection, refer directly to MM in his comments, and certainly did not say anything which was defamatory about MM personally. Therefore a personal, libelous, attack was completely uncalled for.

Should JS run for the president's chair of the FIA becuase MM has to stand down after those comments about a three-times world champion and fantastic ambassador to the sport of F1.

...and to add to the fact that MM has now publically said he DOES NOT take back his comments and WILL NOT make a public apology

Here's to Jackie's successful law-suit smile

...and a vote of no confidence in Mad Max

Having gone back and read it again whilst imagining Max ******* Moseley quaffing down expensive champagne, rolling around in money and having a big old belly laugh telling people how no-one listens to that crazy little scot I am now inclined to agree that I do hope he is exposed as the unprofessional, un-deserving and rude individual that he is.
As for the McLaren bit, I had got completely the wrong end of the stick.

I'm not sure where Damon connected MM's tirade of insults and dyslexia, but that apart, SPOT ON.
JYS is a charector and triple Formula One World Champion. He may rattle on a bit, but what the hell....he likes to talk....so what.
What has Max Moseley ever achieved.

I think he was trying to say that in some respects people who have dyslexia may appear to be less intelligent than others and that this led to the "halfwit" comment. That was my interpretation of the comment from Damon.

I agree. JYS is "very" dyslexic and very pubicly admits that he's never read a book and his literacy is poor. I would imagine that in business he is quite handicapped by this and MM seems to think that it's something that allows cheap cracks about being less able.

As an aside JYS is one of a number of people who are inspirational to those that are dyslexic, he focuses on the other skills and ways of thinking that he has rather than dwelling on the negatives.

Indeed.

My dad used to cite Jackie Stewart to me whenever the subject of my dyslexia came up - look where Jackie Stewart has got, son. You can achieve that too.

I must confess that I hadn't made the connection either, but now Damon has pointed it out it makes sense. What else could certified halfwit mean?

Given that, what if Mosley called Frank Williams a "certified cripple"? I bet the PC brigade would be down on him like a ton of bricks for that.
