im not fussed at the moment, even though ive been playing it an hour or so. I find the bikes are quite tricky to master, very difficult to be smooth on them.

then i moved onto the snow filled nurburgring track. Its not very realistic, theres still quite a lot of grip to be had, but its a bit more challenging to stay on the dry (or should that be slush) line. And when you end your session it shows your lap times in comparison to your friends, so i suspect there will be a fair bit of competition in that respect

What's the point of the bikes, other than the joy of smashing them against the armco? and can I have a cushion I can't see over the steering wheel in the Fiorano, getting neck ache trying to crane my neck for a better viewbiggrin

I reviewed it over at Ars Technica. It has its moments, but to me the game is pretty flawed.

Well from playing the demo last night I think it is very overated before it's even launched.

Too much grip in the snow and totally digital steering in the dry. I was going flat out into corners in the Exige GT3 and then just backing off slightly and going round on rails, no feeling of grip etc. The bikes just seemed out of sorts for the very same steering flaw, it just made them overly wobbly.

Visually it's obviously stunning, although totally agree on the messed up interior view of the 599. I think the A-pillar was just a little bit too close in and I felt like I wanted to move 6 inches over to the side and 3 or 4 inches up in my view point. In fact I had to stop using the in car view on the 599 for that reason.

Might buy it on budget for the visuals but for me it doesnt touch Forza2 in playability. I cant see myself just spinning that game up and doing some free laps. Not with that 'handling' model rofl

Not impressed with the demo at all.

Sticking with Forza 2. Forza looks better, handles better, feels better, and the tracks are better. Even the snow was rubbish in PGR4.

Real shame, was looking forward to this one.

I really liked it, only tried the 599 and Lotus, lot of difference between the two, 599 was obviously quicker in a straightline but the Lotus had loads more downforce that really helped nailing the platinum on the breakthrough event.

Macau seems to be an excellent city from what I played, loads of foot to the floor sections with the odd high speed kink and even more tight and technical sections.

J'agree!

Haven't really driven the Lotus much but enjoyed the way it darts into the corners with minimal fuss. However, the 599 is so cloud9 The noise, the way it handles. Fantastic!
Not overly convinced by the bikes yet. Probably just need more practice at making smooth progress.

I think it's a bit unfair to directly compare PGR4 with Forza2. They compliment each other perfectly. Amongst other things, Forza has the realism and the tuning whereas PGR has the arcadey handling and rewards for outlandish driving style!

The highlight of the demo for me was the 'one on one' in Macau with the weather set to 'storm'. Heavy rain, lightning, lots of standing water and a 600(ish)bhp Ferrari 599!

If i could change one thing, it would be the driving positions for the in-car views.

Yeah I really liked the snow in Forza. OH no, wait a minute. THERE WASN'T ANY!!!

Tracks are miles ahead of the amount that forza has to offer.
