The HSA are running a sprint at Curborough on Sunday. It is the final round of their Championship and usually attracts a pretty good entry. Due to this confounded postal strike I don't have the details of the 'runners and riders' but I am sure it will be worth the trip!

Most events at Curborough are free, some charge a nominal sum £3 to £5 ? at most.

These days it's usually free to get in. Have they finished the roadworks in the area yet?

I think so, but on a Sunday, you've allways been able to get through.

Pleasant afternoon indeed! Here are a few pictures:

Firstly, a Radical:

Next an amazing A-Series engine in an even more amazing Fiat 500:

But sadly, Warren couldn't work out how to get it in BG's boot:

We all loved this Kudos which had an flat-4 Alfa engine:

I liked this old Sylva:

This TVR suffered the embarrassment of being two seconds slower than a SEAT 1.9 Diesel Turbo:

Not many of these left:

Or these:

Two nice old minis:

A Davrian:

A nice fast Imp:

A strange choice of tow-car:

What a great day out! I enjoyed the event despite the midges!

Pity that John Bradshaw and John Owen, who were 1st & 2nd in the HSA championship, were absent! It cost John Owen dear as Steve Filkin in the greeen Elise overhauled his points tally to grab second place.

Lindsay Mercer not only won the single Sports Libre class in the black Radical but also took the Midland Sprint Championship with one round still to go!

Glyn Sketchley was having only his second outing in the ex-Barry Eloie Force and took the 1600 class despite not being 100% confident with the new car. His red TVR tow-car seemed to be attracting a few interested parties!

Andrew Platt took the 2 litre racing car class in his Dallara setting a new class record in the process. The previous record had stood since 1996!!!

The Kudos was an unloved project that Graham Boulter bought a few years back. It is certainly a smartly turned out car, however Graham is looking for something a tad faster!
