Just had a quick browse through autotrader, alot of the chims are around the 60/70k mark in terms of there mileage. Is there anything significant that happens at this point which could be linked with so many people selling?

Not really, I believe there is a psychological barrier at 80k where people start to realise that the car will likely exceed 100k in their ownership so depreciation could get worse.

The real issue is chassis not mileage. In my opinion a 100k car with a solid chassis is worth more than a 50k car with rotten outriggers.

I've had 2 Griffs that exceeded that mileage with absolutely no special high-mile issues. One had a Diff and steering rack replacement earlier at around 45k and 55k, the other was all original.

Nothing! Mines just gone through 60k. Hasn't missed a beat in 3 years rotate. Agree with the 100k good chasis versus 50k with bad chasis point

Mines just done 104K and I bought it 18 months ago on 47K miles.
Still on the orginal cam, clutch changed at 84K.

Chassis is perfect and she gets the basic service as and when needs, so I dont stick to the service schedule at all and she is running better than ever.

Some people have a psycholocial block for any car over 50/60k miles, agreed some are 2nd or even 3rd cars but agreed with the OP, that condition and not milage should be the overriding factor in buying a TVR.

If it has full service History chances are lot of things will have already been replaceed at 80K+, if you purchased something with half that mileage you could be looking at spending more on repairs on top of a premium price for the car
