Not far off on that guess Woddy
Ive just take delivery of Blue Number 7 from the Tasmin race series, currently looking a bit sorry for itself, but Im hoping to get it ready for the track as soon as possible

As NTEL just said "You'll be running around PH like a dog with 2 dicks!"
Damn right I will

Thanks chaps, feels good to be a part of the frat and although number 7 (I havent thought of a cheesey name yet) isnt ship shape and I cant drive it, I still havent stopped smiling

Its my first TVR and my initial plan was to put it on the road, but it would cost a insane amount of money (considering whats out there at the moment) to do so I'll track it instead...its spent its life on the track so it will make a return to its spiritual home sometime in the not too distant future!!!!
Convert:
Always been on the darkside, just never had the Tie Fighter to match
Leigh:
Ahhh buying a racer eh? Got any shots of the beastie?
A couple of shots from last night (well, actually 2:30am before I came home!)

I wont be taking part in the Challenge Leigh, as I dont have the kind of cash to permit that sort of thing at the moment...unless someone wants to pay me maybe once you get it sorted you can join the rest of us in the TVR challange. there's going to be quite a few newbies taking part next year, Inc me.

Although I would be quite happy, once its completed, to take it through a couple of rounds of the Speed Championship

It does need some TLC, but the chassis seems fine, suspension needs rebuilding as do the brakes, engine, gearbox, fuel tank and a bit of electrics....erm and some tyres when the time comes!
Should keep me busy for a while
55 looks like a good 'un
If you want a nose & front splitter just give me a shout

From memory that car is still running the Granada front brakes and vented disks. I might have a couple of sets of disks and some hardly used calipers that would fit...
Once the cars built, if you get a licence / helmet / race suit its not going to cost a huge amount to do a round or two. you dont need to do the whole season

We are trying to organise a group licence test, so you may want to check out this thread.

The first step would be to get the race licence ( this will also allow you to enter sprints but you cant race with a only sprint licence)
This involves
Ards Pack - 51 quid (http://www.demontweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=BOKARDS7)
Medical - 40-65 quid depending on your doctor
Ards test - 150-300 quid depending where you do it, and how much instuction
Licence Fee - 40 quid per year...
once you've done all that its just the 40 quid per year to renew
I'd start there and get that out of the way, then its just a case of getting the car together.
The race meetings next year should all be 2 day events with practice, qually and 2 races, so other than a shake down before you start you dont need to spend a day testing. ( that saves testing fee, fuel, wear and tear, tyres etc)
so if you got the funds for one or two races you can jump in and have a go
It would cost more than a sprint but not by a huge margin, and you would get a fair bit more track time
