Division in the ranks
Discussion
From the rants ive read in MCN and on various forums the “proper” bikers get peeved with the scooter mob nicking “their” spaces in the city or cramming their scoots in so that that they cant get out…
Not a problem for most of us in the country.
Ive only had one real run in with some hells angel type who gave me the bird as I was passing in the other direction for no reason whatsoever, I turned around and went after him and give him a fly past close enough to pull some grease off his manky jeans. This happened 20 years ago but annoyed me enough that it stuck in my mind.
Apart from that ive always got on with anyone on two wheels, I do even nod at the scooter types and learner rides, I like to make them feel there part of a club and hope it gives them maybe a tad more desire to want and go and past the test.

The only thing MCN is good for is lighting a bbq.
There's a harley rider who studiously ignores me every time I nod to him on the commute but I just put it down to him (come on, give us a wave you miserable git... you won't dislodge too much crust from your beard) and not all harley riders.

Nope sorry, I come across far too many scooter tw*ts to change my opinion (bear in mind I ride into the West End of London every day).
They're also the reason I'm having to sell my lovely Tiger as they have not respect for any bike (and therefore, the bikes owner) when it comes to parking.
I hate them all with a passion.
Oh and another thing - what the f*&k is the point of a scooter with those ridiculous wide bars?
And don't they realise that 'MOMO' (as in MOMO Design helmets) is actually Italian for C*^T

ride a classic!!!
out on the GPz i get nods waves, and when parked up, pleasant comments almost without exception!
in fact, its taken me somewhat by surprise, the ol' GPz seems so popular since its rebuild, prob because most went the way of most sports bikes of that era, they got used up and thrown away, so a decent survivor is nice to see..
in a way its the same thing with me on early CBR 600's, especialy the white red and blue ones, i love to see a nice clean one, still looks superb.

Sportbike & Cruiser riders don't talk.
Supermoto's are too 'ard to wave at anyone. ;-)
Scooter riders & bike riders don't talk.. often.
Retro scooters hate auto-scooters.
Every other rider hates my MP3 except the sportscooter mob who love it, as do the general public who can't stop looking (either in amazement or fits of laughter).
Retro bikes don't seem to wave at anyone except retro bikes, and Harley riders are superior (ha ha) to everyone and don't wave back.
I think it sucks.
Oh yeah, the Momo is waaaay cool and my scoot will be showing everyone the way to go when the roads get slippery.
But why are there divisions??????? we're all riding as opposed to driving.
Stay safe out there.
