Thinking of changing the Ford engine to gain more a reliable/modern and quicker power plant. What is the general opinion of Vaxhall Twincam, Zetec power or R1?
Easiest to change and most cost effective to change, my budget is about 2k? Would be changing the gear box too (if fitting car engine) as at present it has a 4 speed. I understand about bike engines in cars etc just after advise regarding fitting problems and approx estimated budget.

Cheers Guys

Got an article (bit dated) from WKC 2004 comparing various 4 pots. Email me if you're interested.

Zetec probably your easiest option. Same bellhousing pattern so could use existing gearbox and also has induction/exhaust on same sides as X-flow.

Quite a few people have done these type of transplants on Locostbuilders.co.uk, and also on wscc.co.uk so worth a hunt on there for previous threads
