Could anyone tell me why all the oil has disappeared out the bottom of my car! It all pumped out within about a quarter of a mile before i arrived at work. It appears to be all around the bottom of the engine toward the rear of the car but has also covered the cam belt, could this be the crank oil seal? If so is this a common problem? will be having a better look tommorow, any ideas would be great!

Hi what Spider have you got? not that may help! It;s not a common prob as far as I know but what I do know is do not drive anywhere with low oil, esp if a twinny. You will have to get under the car and look for a leak, look at the easy places first, FIRST THE SUMP PLUG!!! then oil cooler, filter sump etc, it could be a crank shaft seal but I'd expect that to weep.

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback, turned out it was the crank oil seal in the end looked fine but poured out when running. lucky escape i think.
