Problems with door lock! Please help

Hi all,

I seem to be having a problem with locking and opening my car.

For some reason I can lock all of the doors via both key and fob, however, the passenger door does not open after locking. It does not unlock if you use the key, the fob, or by pressing the button in the car.

Does anyone have any ideas?

BY the way I have a Sept 2002 3 Series Coupe.

My 2000 330ci was doing something similar, it would always lock but half the time would stay locked when I used the remote. The CI has no external passenger lock.
The cure was a new lock, the actuator was failing and it's all one unit.
I think the part was about £80 plus fitting (I'm not sure, currently offshore without the car history!).
They had to strip the door to replace the part so it's a few hours labour, but much less hassle once it's done.

Its a door lock. My Z4 did the same and my girlfriends Mini is doing it at the moment. Either we're very unlucky or its a common fault! When I talked to Maidenhead Mini they had 7 in stock for the nearside!
