Useful tips I have picked up are to measure the old battery to make sure the new one fits (ask me how I know
) and to draw around the outline of the battery tray so you know where it should be when you bolt it back in. The cheapest good ones I've found are bosch batteries from Costco in Reading (you need to be a member), although one of the Cerb guys did have fitting problems with one.

Download the battery chapter from

It should answer all the questions including how to fit it.

To get the last battery I fitted into the Cerb, I had to dremel away most of the plastic tabs on the side of the battery, to get it into the wing. I have one of their 3 ton trolley jacks, good value, fits under the car easily, but its one heavy mother! And go on then, confession time?........
