Well, finaly they have released an "official website" where you may eventually be able to book tickets etc...

http://www.singaporegp.sg

they also have a youtube computer animation of the course here ...

http://www.earthsg.com/index.php?option=com_esg&am...

which TBH does not do the buildings around the track justice ... the noise will be mental

BTW for some scale ..the first bridge that the cross (about two thirds in) is only 2 lanes wide, and not wide enough for 2 buses side by side.

Lots of bars ust underneath though biggrin

We're going to new Zealand next year and planning to return via Singapore with a view to catching the night race there smile

I've registered my interest on the site above wrt ticketing, but will there be hotels on the route with balconies that we could watch from? I'm keen to get something booked soon.

Likewise.

Perhaps our man on the ground can suggest somewhere 'on route'where the rooms wont kill any chance of us being able to eat whilst we are there. Nothing too fancy, clean and comfortable will suffice smile

It sounds like any hotel with balcony viewing will be taken by corporates or available at absolutely extortionate (Monaco GP) prices.

They have currently identified 2 main grandstands, but i am waiting to find out what they are doing about general access areas, because there are 2 parks along the route, plus some great vantage points on Raffles Boulevard, Beach Road and Esplanade.

As soon as they release ticket locations i will try and point out where will be the good vantage points!

The noise through Raffles Boulevard at Marina Square should be quite something, as thats between several 30 + floor glass buildings ears

The night race has been confirmed officially though, sounds like they plan to run it at 8pm local time, dusk here is 6:45 - 7:15 (punctual)

I was spaeking to a friend about this the other day, he has a place out there so I might try and head out there! Bit of a mad looking track..!

Hope its not too narrow though so we dont have the Monaco conga line type races!
