New to this watch business...

But have recently been given a Omega Seamaster from a freind. Had it valued last weekend. £1700 to replace.

Looking for other old watches that can be had for around £100 to £300 to keep my collection going. I have seen Tudor watches, are these any good?

I'd heard they were same case and bracelets as Rolex but with ETA rather than in house movements.

dunno how true that is cos Rolex use really high grade steel, maybe Tudor also use a slightly lower grade steel as well.

I always thought that Tudor were just very old Rolex, and Tudor became Rolex many moons ago.

Then again I know very little about watches only that I quite like them !!

I have a tudor Oyster Prince date/day watch.

The back of the watch case carries the words - "Original Oyster Case By Rolex Geneva"

All other marking is Tudor specific.

I'm looking to have the watch serviced and it appears it is sent to Rolex.

I've had the watch for approx 10 years. No real issues, except it doesnt appear to last long when not worn, but im told this is because ive never had it serviced. Doh!

Don't believe them, hab1966, mine lasted for about 48 hours until it was serviced. One service and £225 later and it would last 7 hours!
