I'm on the hunt for some new alloys.

One of the main factors is weight.

I'm leaning towards a nice set of 6 spoke Compomotive MO rims.

But am also keeping my options open for some original Racelines.

I've looked at Silverstone Performance SP12. the blurb on the web site says: 'Light weight – the 18” SP12 wheel is 25% lighter than the equivalent ‘spider’ wheel, reducing unsprung weight by typically 3kg per wheel and shaving around 12kg from the weight of the car.'

But does anyone know the weight of a 17" raceline, or in fact, the weight of an SP12, does weight 9kg as the above statement seems to suggests?

Edited to add: Anyone know the weight of a 16" Saturn as well please. All mine still have rubber on them.

Thanks

Tim

12kg for the 18" spider and 10kg for the tyre rings a bell. I would guess that wheel plus tyre for the standard 17" is 20kg or less. Jonathan

R888 Toyos are ~ 10kg in the relevant size, most road tyres weigh a bit more again, from what I remember.
