Does anyone know how you would go about acquiring and importing some domesticated elephants from I would guess India, Sri Lanka or Thailand ? I have googled the subject and I guess its a bit esoteric even for Google to find. I am not even sure whether you would transport them by ship or plane?

I think this is perhaps a contender for the oddest seemingly reasonable question ever asked here!

I bought a cow once and when the mrs got home I was measuring the gate to see if it would fit, she phoned my dad and I had a lecture off both of them.

Had to call the farmer to tell him to keep the cash and we didn't need the cow anymore irked

Personally, when transporting Elephants transcontinentally, I always use a Dumbo Jet.

I think these people sell them.

Although they don't mention Postage & Packing costs.

And only seem to have the Indian variety.

HTH.

Isn't it a Clarkson line? something like "it's as wonderful and ridiculous as owning your own pet elephant"

Plasticpig, are you really the man who has everything? Or are you taking someone's 'I don't really mind what you get me for my birthday' request a little too literally?

Seconded.

FWIW I wonder whether elephant sh1t could be used as a source from which biofuel could be produced... scratchchin
