Had an interesting chat with one of the guys from act earlier this week regarding the lack of a sports exhaust for the sag, he then kindly informed me that jp where interested in building one but required a donor car, I have now started the ball rolling and will keep you all posted on the progress.

Why on earth do you want a sports exhaust on a sag ?

Mine is so loud (as standard) it is 103 dba need to get a quieter one to get on track days.

Probably why there aren't any available !!!!!!!!!

Unless you buy a Blueflame one thats quieter than standard I have been told

Nah, if you read the forums regularly you will see that plenty of people want more noise from there sag's, why do you think quite a few have gone for a de-cat, you have been mis informed.

clapWell done Mr Sagoo
I contacted ACT a few weeks back but couldn't spare the time to get my car across and leave it a few days
Thanks for your efforts, I'm sure many Sag owners will appreciate it

When I was a, folk held power in higher regard than Dba...wonder why people now wish to substitute BHP for Dba.

'cos you can listen to your improved exhaust note all the time BUT you can only use the (little) extra power on rare occasions on the road.

I doubt I'd notice 5 or 10 BHP either way but I love my JP enhanced exhaust.

Different story I suppose if you're a trackday warrior! - I am not.

I think my standard Sag sounds spot on, pops and bangs on the overun, infact could be a tad quiter on the motorway and howls like a banshee at high revs.

I put a jp on the T350 and tbh it seemed to be slightly less responsive mid range and 8bhp down on standard, i know others who also noticed similar
never checked the db level

Mine was 103db @4000rpm 2m away earlier this year. Think this is pretty standard for 2005 cars. Later ones seem slightly quieter from the factory when standard according to the guy that measured mine. I know the quoted TVR power figures for later cars were down a bit, not sure if this is relevant though.

OK, point taken. (I should have pointed out that I'm partially deaf after years of riding Ducatis with open or sports pipes and as a result, can't get the benefit you speak of)laugh

I think the standard exhaust is just fine at 103db. I've been down the route of decat with the 4.5 Cerb, Yeah its good and loud, for a short run. Take them out for a day and you just drip blood from your wing nuts! ears

I fit blue flame shark nose cans for track days, they look good and do perform well at 95db. I found them very base, and could hear and feel the lower base tones throuhout the car. So when I'm not doing a track days, I swop back to the straight through pipes off the rear silencer.

It's your own personel preferance, but the standard cans for me are loud enough. My ears still ring after a good run.

Thanks for all the replies, although im a bit concerned about the loss of horsepower,I know a de-cat can have a negative affect on your horsepower but was unaware that a sports exhaust can also have the same effect.

Will a possible 8bhp loss be noticable in a car weighing just over a ton and with 400 horses?

You will still blow away most things but with the added bonus of deafening them as you pass!

When i had my T350 at the factory last year, one of the guys there told me that they had tried most of the aftermarket exhausts on the dyno and the best exhaust for power was the standard item?

I personnally think the standard Saggy exhaust sounds gorgeous.

111db - get a life err sorry quieter exhaust. Anything over 105db gives us all a bad name - like noisy boocks in a flash car.
Is that a German Sag hes driving?
