I have a Chimaera 4.5 registered on 01/08/97 on an R plate. It has had 3 owners and covered just 25,ooo miles. It is in absolutely superb stunning mint condition. Has power steering. Light blue and totally standard. Everything in perfect condition. It is simply one of the best money can buy.
I have an idea on its value but what do you think ? book value out of the window, what would you pay ?
Thanks in advance.

Fernies are selling that age and condition for £15995 sticker price so I don't think £12-13K is out of the question - you could always try your luck. There are plenty around that are cheaper but if yours really is A1 then someone might be willing to pay a little more because it's low mileage.

I don't mean to be antagonistic but it's pretty difficult to place a value on something when you use superlatives to describe the condition. Of course you want to get the best price possible but realistically it's a 10 year old car - how can "everything" be "perfect" condition? Have you had the body off to look at the chassis? With full service history and clear evidence of comprehensive maintenance and no outstanding repair needs and good to excellent condition throughout then the top side to sell it in today's market is probably 10500. If you don't need to sell now and are happy to have it hang around then you might try 11500. If it's got any blemishes then you're below 10.

Speaking as someone who tried to sell his P&J this time last year without success, I'd say that £12-13K might have been a fair price a couple of months ago, but not during the dark months.
If you're in no rush, I'd advise you to wait until May 2008.

Bought mine 18 months ago - 1999S 450 with PAS and pretty much immaculate from an Indy for £11k, so be wary of setting it too high. Plus as another poster says, it's getting dark early, so it's a buyers market at the mo.
