Hello, well I'm almost a week into cerby ownership and loving every minute of it, a truly epic car but i would be interested to know what you all use to clean your cars, shampoos, polishes, waxes etc. And any other advice to keep the interior/exterior in tip top condition throughout the year would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I'm new too, so nothing specific to cerbs, but my top tried and tested cleaning products are:

Rubbing compound: Faracela 3G
Polish: 3M Imperial Hand glaze
Shampoo: Meguirs Gold
Wax: Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection.

That said, I don't think I've weilded a sponge in anger in over 6 months...

I'm an idle bar steward, so mine gets a half hour wash with one of those "Flash" car wash things, either once a week, or once every two weeks, depending on how dirty it is. Unfortunately, some t**t at the back of my house keeps pigeons, so that forces me to do the occasional midweek "hose off".

A valeter comes round work once a month to wax it etc.

He does it four times better than me, and about four times quicker, all for £67. smile

I use Zymol, but I'm sure all goos waxes are much the same. I waa reading in Autoexpress this week, there's a ne wax they were testing, it's called - and i kid you not - Fukken Wax. Strange really, cos I've been saying for years that I have to go and Fukken Wax the car. smile

Well thanks for that. guess it ll just get the usual treatment with the odd spruce up now and then.

On a different note I've been terrorising the streets in the cerb for a week now and not seen or heard another TVR tumbleweed Starting to feel a bit out numbered. They cant all be being fixed can they? eek

Hi Lee. Welcome to the fold.
The fact that you havnt come across another Cerb - its called exclusivity.
I drive mine every day and nobody has ever put a note in the Spotted section.
I'm beginning to think mine has a cloaking device fitted.

I have a combined wash-and-polish method that works a treat.

I wash the car with MER car shampoo and mix a capful of MER polish into the bucket before adding the water.

Then I dry the car off with, of all things, the cloths for shining glass that you get in any LIDL store.

I've done this with the last couple of cars I've had.

It means that I can keep the shine on the car without having to polish it nearly as often.

Worth a try.

I use Jord and Mer via shell.

"Hi Jord, here's some Mer, if you do a good job we'll go to shell"

I don't like the Cerb being over-fueled so "we'll need to take the Cerb on a run".

Oh, and a tenner for good measure.

Jord is my son.

Hamsters white teeth ?

I don't know what type of hamsters you've owned in the past, but any hamsters I've ever had, have always had rotten looking yellow teeth.

Come to think of it, as A kid, I can never once remember ever seeing said hamster, brushing his teeth.

I've witnessed him biting his nuts a couple of times though.

Uh, before I apply the polish (MER), I'd like to find some way of removing the eco-system that's compressed onto all the leading edges !

Anyone know of a bug-desolve-but-keep-gloss cream ???

Hi

Lee if you've just got the car look Eddie4.2 up he does a half or full day on the car for a very good price. He had Cerb for a while so know hows to make it look the dogs, I'll try and post some before and after shots. The car looks like it's had a re-spray when he has finished.

Got some ancient Byging 100 in the garage. Top stuff, acrylic sealant.

Tried the modern equivalent - Supaguard 100 Plus - and it is as good and thoroughly recommended.

Just to show what an old barstwich I am I also keep a Nanette Mop in the boot for the odd wiz over. Ideal for getting dust and dirt off before the heat of the day bakes it in.
