Go 700 speaker

Hi , I have a GO700 about 18 months old. When I use the hands free to speak on the phone, sometimes the person on the other end of the phone cannot hear me, but I can hear them. That can happen 2 or 3 times, then it works perfectly for a couple of days. Really annoying, is this common on these and will it have to go back for repair????

make sure the contacts between the shoe and the tom tom are clean , as the mic is in the shoe and if its not conecting properly then it wont work
